Gentlemen,

 

The Rock-n-Green Tomato Festival is coming up soon, August 7-8. Traditionally we have only been asked to work the August 8, 6-10pm. This year they are asking for one of us to help keep people from crossing the Linden Ave. bridge on the east end. They want to use one of their paid security persons in the festival and to replace that person with one of us. This is a 10am-6pm “window of opportunity” for us. My commitment has only been to try and get volunteers. If we “want” to do this, I propose cutting this into 2-hour shifts, 10a, noon, 2p and 4p. So we need 4 cheerful volunteers willing to tell locals,

    ”Please refrain from crossing the bridge, we cannot guarantee your safety. Loss of limb, life and common sense is possible.” I am willing to take a shift, so does anyone else want to join in? As a benefit you can have all the water you want during your shift.

 

As to the 6-10 shift. If I can get 1 or 2 more volunteers, it would be great.
